Our Programs

The University Club is perhaps best known for its exceptional and comprehensive tennis programs.

The University Club offers programs for all ages and experience levels. Whether you're advanced or just beginning, you're in good hands here at the club. Our Director of Racquets, Brian Anderson, and his staff are always readily available to assist in making your tennis experience the best in town.

  • Junior Development Program

    • While our programs include many top players, we understand that it all starts at the beginning level. Our emphasis has been to design a program that includes children at all levels and gives them a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime. Our Tennis Pros are some of the best in Memphis that will teach your children the proper techniques for Tennis success.

      Our Junior Tennis Program offers lessons, clinics and match play for those ages 3-18 with nine week long sessions throughout the school year and 3 days a week sessions all summer long. This year round program is completely tailored to your child's age and skill level.

      The following sessions are now available for all UClub Members:

      Dropshots/Quick Start - Ages 5-8
      Futures - Ages 9-12
      DIII - Ages 12-17

  • Summer Junior Development Programs

    • Help your child fall in love with the game of tennis!
      Our Junior Development classes are for beginners and will cover all the basics of tennis. We will play fun games and ensure all students have a great time.
      This program will run from June 8th through August 5th
      Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
      *No classes the week of July 4th

      There are 2 Age Groups -
      DROPSHOTS - Ages: 4-9 Times:  12:00pm to 1:00pm
      FUTURES - Ages: 9-14 Times:  1:00pm - 2:15pm


      Our Blue Chip Junior Program is for the serious junior tennis player looking to take his/her game to the next level. Whether you are looking to be a top player in the South or possibly the best player on your school team, this is the class for you!
      Advanced strategies for singles and doubles, stroke technique, mental toughness, match play and fun game play. All aspects of tennis will be covered in our week long session.
      This program will run from June 1st through August 6th, Monday through Friday (all summer long)
      * Please note, June 1st is a Tuesday. Due to Memorial Day, classes will run Tuesday through Friday the first week. Every other week will run Monday-Friday.
      * No classes the week of July 4th
  • Private & Group Lessons

    • Private and group sessions are available with our Director of Racquets, Brian Anderson, and our Tennis Pros. Prices vary depending on the coach, time and number of participants.

  • NTRP Clinics

    • The UClub's primary focus is to nurture and grow our players' talent by tailoring their sessions according to their skill level. To achieve this, we use the National Tennessee Rating Program to rank our players skill level from beginners at 2.0 to intermediate at 3.5 all the way to advanced starting at 4.5. We offer clinics at each level all year round plus cardio training on the courts.

  • Additional Items

    • The University Club owns two Playmate ball machines; one for outdoor usage and one for inside. The indoor machine is a “smart” ball machine that can be operated with an I-phone or I-pad and has a lift that allows practice of returns of serve. The machine will serve balls from low speeds through 125 mph and can be programmed to do almost anything.

      The club has a fully stocked tennis pro shop selling accessories, balls, clothing, rackets, shoes, protein bars, beer and soft drinks.

      The club is well known for its game-finding service that is unmatched. Players can give us notice that they want to play on a day and time and we will make it happen.
